So, who is going to grace this wonderful piece of game?

I'll be there for sure. Dungeons and Dragons is what brought me into the world of non-video game gaming and I have not been happier since.

I guess it helps that I live 30 mins from the birthplace of Dungeons and Dragons, but still, yum yum yum!!

Anyone notice it looks alot like Guild Wars other than the fact that there are traps, ladders, and it is a mmorpg.

Debatable. It will be fun for a RPG game, but GW will still have ladders and be more team oriented. =)

I wouldn't mind having a Shadowrun game come out, oh geeze, the endless possibilites there with character classes. @_@

Just started playing it a couple nights ago at a friends place after a few years of not playing... LoL. Didn't have time to make a custom character so I was looking around in one of the more recent releases and the choices were funny as heck.

Was thinking of playing a rental cop, then as a pimp... Finally settled on Terrorist who is an Anti-Ghoul supporter. What a night...

I'll have to look up some of the DnD stuff and figure out how much of the books they put into the game. Loved playing my dual welding dagger whip / longsword bard humming a little tune of slaughter...

I thought this D&D MMORPG was PvE only? Am I mixed up on that point, easily possible I havnt payed it much attention. If it is true it is of course a rather stricking difference in game play.

Im certainly intrested, but I think i'll wait and see how it does first. Jumping on board as soon as a game is released has proved bad for me in the past XD.

Save for guild wars of course.

yeah, there are no plans for pvp in DDO. major turn off.

I suppose I am lucky, in that I play DnD all the time - have for years - and I have a great group. Why pay for something that will by necessity have to modify all the rules of the game I know and love? Especially when I can get a good game going for free.

DnD is NOT free.. have you ever added up the price of:
coke, chips, taco bell, pancakes, apples, bowling, and pencils

im lucky if i can get away from a night of DnD spending less then 20 bucks

Never trust Turbine (who makes D&D online) with release dates. Turbine said that Middle-Earth Online would be released in Spring 2004, and it is not even in alpha testing yet. Also, if you like PvP, Turbine is not for you. Although some games have made one and one combat real time (such as Matrix Online), Turbine cannot seem to grasp that technology.

On the plus side, Turbine plans to make a good thief for D&D, which of course will be just PvE until some future expansion comes out.
